H. Metric versus English System

Of course, I favor the usage of the metric system. However, VCGI maps and other resources used here provide elevations and distances in feet. Elevations on present day topographic maps are “Local” and need to be adjusted to “Adjusted Elevations” for isostatic rebound corrections. To express distances and elevations in both English and metric units, including corrections for rebound is cumbersome. Nevertheless, elevations and distances are reported in English units along with conversions to metric units.
